Bodybuilder HGH usage
Bodybuilder HGH usage is on everyone’s mind. Since the 1950s, bodybuilders have used supplements in the journey to the ultimate body. This article is about how you can gain some insights into how to use this peptide most effectively.
In the early 60’s, bodybuilders were experiencing, previously unheard of, muscle growth by using anabolic steroids. Bodybuilders knew they had found something that worked for their quest towards “Hulk-like” looks.
During the 70’s synthetic human growth hormone made its appearance as a performance enhancing supplement.
Growth hormone is an essential hormone in the body. Precise amounts are necessary for tissue growth, including muscle, to function optimally. On the flip side an over or under production of GH can serious health effects.
High levels of Human Growth Hormone leads to enlarged organs, plus other problems such as diabetes..
Issues also arise when there is too little growth hormone production in the body. Lack of growth in children are the most common problem. Common “Growth Hormone Deficiency” in adults can cause decreased muscle mass, lack of sleep and less vitality. When these conditions are treated with synthetic human growth hormone by injection, patients experience reduced fat mass, increased bone density, increased lean muscle tissue, improved lipids, reduced cardiovascular risk factors and improved mental health. Bodybuilders realized they could gain the same benefits of fat reduction and increased lean muscle tissue if they used growth hormone. As a result, competitors in the 70s and 80s began to present a more refined, ripped, look. Growth hormone usage quickly became common after that.
Interview with Ali Amini
Ali Amini has observed the effects of HGH for many years and is a big proponent of the hormone. We interviewed him and this is what he had to say on the topic.
Ali: “Growth hormone is a single-chain protein made of 191 amino acids with a molecular weight of approximately 22 kDa (Kilo Daltons). It is released into the blood-stream by the somatotrope cells of the anterior pituitary gland. Initially it was taken from human pituitary glands. However, in 1985, biosynthetic GH replaced this earlier version. Growth hormone is used in sports for its ability to burn fat, increase lean body mass, shorten recovery time and strengthen joints and ligaments while healing damaged tissue. As far as pro bodybuilders go, all of them use GH, especially these days as it is much easier to get than in the early 90s. But it is not as essential a part of contest prep or of an off-season cycle as most think. It helps a lot if taken in the right amount and at the right time according to the type of program/cycle one is on, but it is not a crucial aspect of the whole program.”
Benefits of growth hormone in bodybuilding and effective administration
Ali: “Some people think GH is a magic potion. However, by adding GH to a cycle you will be lucky if you see 15% gain.”
Us: “If a bodybuilder were to only use GH at the exclusion of every other steroid, what kind of effect could a bodybuilder expect to see on their physique?
Ali: “Very little in the way of muscle gains and a barely noticeable decrease in body fat. GH by itself isn’t that strong of an anabolic. Even though it has the property of holding protein synthesis, such as testosterone, it doesn’t provide a constant durability of its effect nor does it noticeably increase strength like other anabolic drugs.”
Us: “Can growth hormone work well for bodybuilders who use it at optimal dosages?”
Ali: “Smart bodybuilders never do over 8 IU (International Units) a day. I have heard of others doing 24 IU a day but this only his results in bloating because of water retention caused by that dose.”
Us: “What is the optimal dose of growth hormone one should take to attain its benefits?”
Ali: “Taking a 200 IU kit of GH over 50 days (at 4 IU a day) is more efficient than taking the same 200 IU over a period of 25 days (at 8 IU a day).”
Us: “What exactly does growth hormone do and what are the positive side-effects?”
Ali: “GH diverts calories in food towards protein synthesis and away from fat synthesis as demonstrated in animal tests. It is as powerful as testosterone in stimulating protein synthesis properties.”
Us: “What are effects of growth hormone deficient people?”
Ali: “GH-deficient adults have reduced lean body mass and increased fat mass; particularly central abdominal fat mass.”
Us: “How long does growth hormone have to exert its anabolic effects after injection?
Ali: “GH has a half-life of 15 to 20 minutes after subcutaneous injection. Blood concentrations of GH reach their peak between one and three hours after injection.”
How should HGH be cycled?
Ali: “Once we have an understanding of how GH is produced in the body and how it interacts with other hormones and under which circumstances it converts best to IGF-1, then we have a good idea of how to best administer GH. IGF-1 production is regulated by factors other than GH. Most importantly nutrition and thyroid health.”
Ali: “When GH is released it goes to the liver to stimulate a set of growth factors. IGF-1 is the best known of these. IGF-1 is a 70 amino acid single chain hormone and is the most potent derivative of GH. GH works together with insulin. The lower the insulin level, the more GH the pituitary gland produces; creating a better environment for GH to work. Using GH when your insulin level is low and after a workout would be the best time to use it. If GH is injected in conjunction with insulin, it should be taken immediately after workout while injecting the insulin 30-40 minutes after that.”
Us: “If elite competitors take GH twice a day, when is the other optimal period?”
Ali: “Take the second before going to bed. It’s a time when your blood sugar is also low. It would be even better to inject it in the middle of the night.”
Optimal Dosage And Timing
Us: “How big would each of the two dosages be?”
Ali: “The main benefit of GH is its action on the liver to produce IGF-1. It is important to know the capability of the liver in terms of how much GH it can use to get the maximum benefit. The liver can work with three to four IU of GH at a time and can do that twice a day with a reasonable gap of five to seven hours. Therefore, the best dose would be a total of six to eight IU per day divided into two doses and having those five to seven hours apart. For example, take four IU after workout and another three to four IU before bed or during the night sleeping period.”
Us: “What would happen if the body builder took too little or too much GH?”
Ali: “It depends on the capability of the body to use GH at maximum doses to produce maximum effect. Taking less will definitely work and the gains will be noticeable. If you take too much, you can expect water retention side effects. But if you understand how GH works in the body and how the body utilizes it, it is easy to find out how, when and how much you should take.”
Us: “How does growth hormone compare to other anabolic drugs in terms of health problems if used excessively?
Ali: “Anabolic steroids can cause serious problems if overused. By comparison, you don’t need any special form of detoxification post cycle, as the body doesn’t become toxic from legitimate GH.”
GH And Insulin: Negative Interaction
Us: “Tell us more about the interaction between insulin and growth hormone.”
Ali: “By introducing insulin to your body, GH and thyroid hormone levels drop dramatically. That is just how the human body works. I recommend taking insulin and GH together, but not at the same time. Administer GH when insulin is low. ”
Us: “But why risk the benefits and gains of using both when there is no study to prove this?
Ali: “What I am recommending is what the body is already doing. Administer GH via IM after workout to reach the system quickly. Introduce insulin 30-40 minutes after that.”
Us: “What is the most effective method of administering growth hormone for body builders? ”
Ali: “The intramuscular method is the best choice for administration in athletes as it reaches the system much faster and starts acting faster than a sub-q injection.”
Us: “Is it true that the larger you are the more growth hormone you need to take?”
Ali: “The size and weight of the athlete is not a big factor here as it all depends on the liver’s capability to utilize GH and produce IGF-1. Some athletes take up to 24 IU of GH a day but the liver can’t utilize this amount and you will notice undesirable side effects.”
Us: “What are the worst side effects that can happen with growth hormone abuse?”
Ali: “No one has died of using GH. However, GH has the tendency to worsen any cancer due to its cell volumizing and anabolic effect on a cell’s size. Jaw and nose growth are the most noticeable signs of using GH over a longer period. No study has proved that GH causes cancer. The cause of cancer is still not clear today. However, we can assume that GH or any sort of steroid, might act as a catalyst if you are already suffering from cancer.”

Us: “Is GH detectable during a drug test?
Ali: “Only minimal quantities of GH appear in the urine, leading its metabolites in a urine sample to look identical to the metabolites of orally administrated amino acids. GH is an undetectable drug in a doping test.”
